For the actors....

I've seen Animal Farm today in Bitonto and I really loved it!
I would compliment all of you on the amazing interpretations you gave in the play.

I particularly liked Johnny's Boxer and above all Napoleon's portrayal, but unfortunately I missed the actor's name ... He was -you were- astonishing! Really! The perfect Napoleon, I loved that evil grin.....
So the quastion comes spontaneusly: Has it been an hard work to get into Napoleon's character so well?

PS - One more curiosity: I really liked the music, but I wondered : it was already exsistent or it was composed for the play?

Thank you for your message and for your kind words about the play. It's a fun play to do!

In respect of the songs. They are quite generic traditional Russian folk songs which I'm sure you could 'google' and download onto your MP3 player. Our director put our composition together so they are unique to our play.

Can I just say that I am very sorry for not replying to your kind questions until now. I have only just seen your question. I am glad you enjoyed my intepretation of Napoleon.

Yes it is hard to create a character which has half animal movements and half human expression. I initially based the character on Stalin, but had to change a lot when I started to become the animal. Although it was hard work physically, it is always a lot of fun playing the bad guy and shouting at people when you know they cant shout back!
